The pump and stone in this system diffuses the free air you breath into the wort instead of paid for pure oxygen bottles. The pump pushes air through an inline sanitary filter and into a 2 micron diffusion stone which is then dispersed into the wort. The advantage of this aeration system is that you will never need to buy replacement oxygen tanks. The only con is that aeration takes a little longer (30 – 120 minutes) than pure oxygenation. Contamination during this period isn’t a concern; however, you should monitor the fermenter periodically because it could over foam.

Includes:
• Aeration Pump
• Sanitary Air Filter
• 2 Micron Oxygen Stone
• Tubing

Inline filters: There is an arrow on the edge of the filter housing indicating recommended flow direction so there is an “in” and an “out” side on these filters; however, the direction you choose isn’t important as long as you make note which way you chose to go with. Always use that direction to avoid possible contamination using the same filter on future batches.

Note: The filter should never get wet. Don’t try and sanitize it by dunking it in sanitizer. If you want to clean the outside of it, use a spray bottle and lightly spray it with sanitizer or an isopropyl alcohol/water mix and allow to air dry.

Filter storage: Use tinfoil on the “out” of the filter and place in a zip lock bag.

Stone storage: Make sure your stone is clean after use. Do not touch the porous body of the stone. The oils on your skin can clog it. To sanitize your stone, soak it in Star San for 1 min, or boil it for a minimum of 2 minutes but no more than 5 minutes. Over boiling will cause the stone to fall apart.
