You can ferment under pressure, carbonate, and serve right from your fermenter (Unitank) with this pressure kit. The kit includes (2) plastic female threaded ball lock fittings with barbs (threads onto the existing openings on top of the FermZilla). There’s a silicone dip tube with a stainless steel float that attaches to the beverage out side which will allow you to draw beer from the top of the tank. There’s an optional Floating Dip Tube Filter available that will prevent unwanted material from getting into the dip tube, which is super handy when pulling samples.

  • The silicone dip tube is 31″ long. It will work perfectly as is for the 55L FermZilla
  • For the 27L model, simply cut the dip tube shorter
  • Optional Floating Dip Tube Filter

Fermenting Under Pressure:
This pressure kit allows you to ferment under pressure. There are advantages for fermenting under pressure, such as reducing esters and fusel alcohol production; which means that you can ferment at warmer temperatures than you normally would (even making lagers at room temperature). The lid on the Fermzilla already comes with a built-in  35 psi pressure relief valve. The kit allows you to add CO2 through the ball lock fitting. It is highly recommended that you attach a spunding valve in addition to having the PRV already. It’s always a good idea to have two relief valves on the FermZilla anytime the unit is under pressure.

Carbonating, Transferring, and Serving:
An advantage  to fermenting under pressure is that the beer will already be carbonated when fermenting is done. A spunding valve will allow you to control the level of carbonation which means that you can eliminate kegging and now serve directly from the fermenter.
Kegging can still be achieved by pressure transferring. Attach a line from the Fermzilla’s bev out to your keg liquid out, attach your Co2 source to the Fermzilla, attach a spunding valve onto the keg and set a lower psi than what the pressure is inside the Fermzilla and sit and watch it transfer with ease. You can also choose to send carbonated beer through a beer filter on the way to your keg.  Note: When applying pressure with a CO2 tank also make sure that you have a functional relief valve on your CO2 regulator.

Eliminate Oxidation:
Since the beer always has a CO2 blanket through fermentation and during any transfers out, oxidation is eliminated. When you cold crash you won’t be sucking air back in through an airlock.
