Treacle, Black – Lyle’s

Description

Black treacle syrup is a mixture of cane molasses and syrup. Black treacle syrup is dark in color (100 Lovibond) and has a high viscosity. Thanks to its rich, strong and intense flavor, black treacle syrup is the perfect counterpart to golden syrup used in British beers. It is most commonly used in dark English ales (Old Ale) and sometimes in stouts and porters.

Usage: 1/4 lb. – 1 lb. per 5 gallons of beer or to recipe
